Painting Fireplace Tile

This was an instant upgrade to ugly builder-grade tile surrounding the fireplace. I dreaded figuring out the arch, so I decided I'd do a quick fix with paint. Make sure to select a quality primer that can withstand heat from a fireplace. 

This is the ugly tan tile on the fireplace and entry/kitchen of my home.

Here's a coat of primer. This project took one evening of my time with the most time spent allowing the primer to dry before the paint. 

 I chose a dark muddy gray, but the "color match" is more like a dark slate gray. It's fine- far enough away from the kitchen accent that you can't tell the difference...but what a difference!
