Time to make! I crushed the OREO cookies in my mini-prep food processor.
Crushed and ready to add the cream cheese!
Mix the cream cheese until cookie crumbs are evenly coated.
Shape the 1-inch cookie balls:
I had a middle school basketball game to attend, so I returned to coat the OREO cookie balls with white (tinted pale blue) candy melts. I decided to dip a cake pop stick for coating so the tops of the balls would be nice and smooth to look like snow globes.Let the candy melt set with the stick and then dip and coat the cookie ball. Tap off any excess. Work quickly here to sprinkle the white nonpareils (more towards the stick...or bottom of the snow globe) before the candy melts set.
After the cookie balls set, remove the cake pop stick and add a dab of the candy melt to the top of a Rolo candy, used here as the base of the snow globe. Place the cookie ball on top of the base.
Here's the inside of the cookie balls:
Ready to decorate! I used red, green, white and chocolate frosting for decorating. Place in a plastic bag and snip a small corner to pipe your holiday designs. My favorite is the little red truck with the tree. Reminds me of a friend who passed away a couple of years ago. He used to take his step-kids in his red truck to get their tree. I know who will get this cookie ball.
Create fun snowmen, log cabins, gingerbread men playing in the snow, Christmas trees and more!
