Are you ready to Flavor Your Summer??  We just had one of our most fun weekends of the year to kick off summer in the neighborhood.  The annual Get Outside Festival is held just two blocks down the street from our house and the location makes our house the landing spot for several extra kids for the weekend.  With that, comes extra hungry bellies to feed.

Good thing I picked up a few extra CALIFORNIA PIZZA KITCHEN® Hand Tossed Oven Ready Pizza - The Works for the freezer a couple of night ago at Walmart.  The bright yellow packaging caught my eye as I was headed to the checkout.

The expo is filled with bike demos, bike and running races, kid activities, bands and booths full of swag!

 These girls used to all be within a few houses, so it was fun to get them together again.

The weekend forecast was mostly rain so we dealt with a few squalls moving in and out and some chilly winds.  A warm lunch was definitely what the kids all wanted, so we fired up the oven.

 The pizzas already smelled so good right out of the box!  Baked within 20 minutes...

 Devoured in far less than 20 minutes!

 The kids politely thanked me for providing lunch and off they went on bikes and scooters for more activities.

I got to disappear for a bit at the free community yoga for the event.

 The rest of the afternoon was spent spectating the Chro-Moly Chef Competition. This is about the 6th year of the competition.  The idea was sparked from Food Network's IronChef competition.  Local bike mechanics compete against one another to build a bike with the bike parts provided.  They are judged on presentation, creativity and bike performance.

They moved fast and furious to collect their "ingredients" of parts and immediately started sawing metal and welding parts together.

There was a backwards/forwards bike, a double-decker, a side-by-side bike and more.  The bikes are then raced down the block before a winner is determined.
