Tween Room Drapes

The new drapes we just added are made from the fabric I ordered before I started her room.  It was the drapery fabric on a season of the Bachelor or Bachelorette.  I had a heck of a time trying to figure out how to track down the fabric.  I searched the ABC website and Google and it finally let me to Young House Love.  Sherry had a screen shot from the show and I asked if she knew where to find the fabric.  She directed me to Premier Prints. The walls of this room had been painted chocolate brown and lime green for 2 years, so the print and colors were perfect.

The fabric is Suzani Chocolate/Natural.  I ordered 3 yards when I thought I wanted a duvet out of the fabric,  and then another 3 yards when I decided to use the fabric for drapes.  I recently ordered 2 packages of 2" dark brown grommets and delivered the fabric, measurements and grommets to my mom.
She had the drapes whipped up in no time.  The drapery hardware is from Target.  The total cost was about $100.
The window is off-center in the room.  On the right side, there is a bookcase pretty close to the window and the left side has less wall space, so the brackets are mounted 4" above the window and flush with the frame of the window.  That way, the drapes can't be opened beyond the frame of the window.
The drapes work perfect to dim the bright daylight in the room for better Sunday afternoon movie watching.
