Here are some Mardi Gras mask cookies for little faces on Fat Tuesday. I don't have a mask cookie cutter, so keep reading to see which cookie cutter was most like a mask.
Mix a batch of sugar cookie dough. Roll out your dough and grab a flying heart cookie cutter. A bent decorator tip worked just find to cut the eye holes for the mask. Trim away the bottom of the heart. Ta-da! Mask.
Pipe and fill with purple and green royal icing:
Pipe small dot details with green, purple and yellow/gold royal icing.
