Edible Craft - Pretzel Owls & Turkeys
Looking for an edible craft for Thanksgiving? While the rest of the Thanksgiving feast is cooking away in the kitchen, this is a perfect craft to round up all of the little ones after the Thanksgiving Day parade on TV or your local Turkey Trot. Burn some calories to earn some calories! These little pretzel chip turkey heads are cute, tasty and a real treat to make.
Here's what you need: white chocolate or candy melts, pretzel chips, wax paper, Ziploc bag, chocolate chips, candy corns. First, we're going to melt some white chocolate or candy melts. Add the warm melted chocolate to a Ziploc bag and snip one corner. Place pretzel chips face up on a piece of wax paper.
To make Turkeys, pipe big round circles for the eyes and place a chocolate chip in the center. Dip a candy corn in the melted chocolate and place for the beak.
For owls, turn the pretzel chip upside down so the two points can become ears. Pipe big round circles for the eyes and place a chocolate chip in the center. Most bags of candy corn come with a few shorties- like the yellows were left at the factory. Use the smaller candy corns or a candied sunflower seed for the owl's beak.
Right side up turkeys and upside down owls!
Get ready to turn your turkey head into a TOM or serve just the turkey heads on a platter.
