Mummy Wreath
If this was a post on how to clean dingy old sheets, this cute little mummy wreath would not have been made for Halloween this year. Instead of using bleach to whiten, this sheet set was shredded to make a series of mummies peeking through to watch approaching visitors. What to find out how to make this wreath in about 5 minutes? Read on...
Supplies: wreath form, old sheet or cheese cloth, large wiggly eyes, hot glue gun & hot glue.
What I liked about making this mummy wreath was just wrapping the form with torn strips of sheet. It isn't glued down, pinned down or permanent. You could easily reuse this wreath form after Halloween by just untying and unraveling the strips of sheet.Continue wrapping the from with the sheet until covered. You should be able to make a small cut and then tear the sheet down the grain. I made different sized strips- approximately 2"-4"
To secure the sheet strips, I tied smaller strips around the wreath. The small ties give it more of a mummy look.
Then I spaced 5 sets of wiggly eyes around the wreath.
The eyes are secured with a dab of hot glue behind each wiggly eye.
Then I tied more sheet strips to hide the wiggly eyes.
To hang the wreath, I used a long strip of sheet and looped it around the wreath.
I like that it it's a little cartoon-ish and not terrifying. My kids are getting older, but not old enough for really spooky Halloween decor. How about you? Are your decorations spooky, frightening, cutesy or a mix?
