Candy Corn Turkey Cookies

Gobble, gobble!  Time to make soft chocolate turkey cookies...my favorite chocolate cookie combined with my favorite holiday.
Recipe:
Melt 3/4 cup of butter in a small sauce pan with 1 1/5 cups of brown sugar, 2 cups of chocolate chips and 2 T of water.  Remove from heat and rest 10 minutes.  Combine 2 eggs with melted chocolate mixture and add 1 1/4 t of baking soda & 3 cups of flour.  Refidgerate dough for 1 hr.  Roll into walnut sized balls, place on parchment paper and bake for 8min at 350F.
Immediately place a candy melt in the center of the cookie.  Any color or flavor will do since we are going to cover the candy melt with chocolate frosting.  As the candy melts into the warm cookie, place 6 candy corn tips into the candy/cookie.  Let set.
Pipe a spiral of chocolate frosting over the candy melt.
Pipe the turkey head and neck (round glob of frosting on the candy corn and then pull down the body for the neck).
Place white sprinkles for the eyes or pipe white eyes.  Pipe the yellow beak (wide at base and bring to a point).
Pipe a red turkey wattle, blue dots for the eyes, and orange turkey legs/feet.
 Closer detail of turkey's face:
The dark cookie really makes the bright turkey pop.  The cookies are approximately 1 1/2"-2" diameter.  You could also make brownies for the dark background.
These turkey cookies are a great edible craft for the kids while they are waiting for the real turkey in the oven.
